Snead Community College To Present
"You're A Good Man Charlie Brown"

April 18, 2010
The Snead State Community College Department of Theatre will present “You're A Good Man, Charlie Brown”, on April 29, 30 and May 1 at 7:00 p.m. and May 2 at 2:00 p.m. in the Bevill Center Concert Hall. This musical play opened on Broadway in 1971 and is based on the story lines and characters from the popular and perhaps the most successful comic strip of all time, Peanuts created by Charles Schultz.

In this delightful production, the Peanuts gang follows the events in a day of the life of Charlie Brown. The audience is introduced to the whole Peanuts gang as Snoopy, Lucy, Linus, and Schroeder join in the fun that includes Charlie Brown's lunchtime, Snoopy's dinnertime, Lucy's coronation and the most dreaded event in the entire history of any school kid’s homework! Spring Wind Band Concert April 25

BOAZ - April 18, 2010
The Snead State Community College Wind Band will hold a Spring Concert on Sunday, April 25, at 3 p.m.

The Community Wind Band is a concert band composing of Snead State students, adults within the Snead State area, and area high school students who have demonstrated excellence in All-State tryouts.

The group will be performing the following selections: “Aladdin,” arranged by Robert W. Smith; “Romance,” arranged by Ronald Binge with a special alto saxophone solo featuring Charlie Hibbs; “Under the Double Eagle,” arranged by Andrew Ballent; and “A Tribute to Gershwin,” arranged by Jack Bullock.

The concert will conclude with a Concerto for the Faculty and Band of Snead State arranged by humorous novelty James Ployhar. The Concerto will feature Snead State President Dr. Robert Exley and Instructors Dr. Jonathan Watts, Vann Scott, and Karen Watts.

The Community Wind Band concert will be held at the Bevill Center Concert Hall. The concert is free to the public.


Lovin' the 60s Classic Car Cruise In

he Whole Backstage is celebrating the 1960s with a Classic Car Cruise in on Sunday April 25th. If you have a classic car you would like to SHOW OFF, then you don't want to miss this fun opportunity! The cruise in is a free event. Cruise in will begin at 11AM and open to the public at noon and will remain open to the public till 3PM. The cast of Lovin' the 60s will perform a few selections from the show, there will be door prizes, and lots and lots of great looking cars!

Each car will receive a bucket where passers-by may drop in their loose bills and change. At 2PM the buckets will be collected. The car who collected the most money will receive a 50/50 split of the total collection from all buckets, 4 tickets to see Lovin' the 60s, and bragging rights!!!!!
