University of Alabama defensive back Will Lowery challenges Arab 5th graders during the recent 2012 DARE Graduation ceremony.

Will Lowery, the University of Alabama's 2011 defensive dime back was the guest speaker for the recent 2012 DARE graduation at the Arab High School auditorium. Lowery, who sports a National Championship ring, challenged the Arab 5th graders to never give up on their dreams. Lowery told the group that playing for the Crimson Tide was hard at times and that he even thought of giving up a few times but he decided to stick it out. The hard work paid off as he was able to play on the National Championship team this past year. Lowery also told the students that the adults in their lives were always there to help with any problem, they just have to ask.

Lowery was a standout at Hoover High school before attending Alabama. He was Alabama's nominee for the Rudy Award, which honors student-athletes who demonstrate exemplary character, courage, contribution and commitment as members of their collegiate football teams during his sophomore year.
