12 Year Old Gets Lost Looking For Pet
January 7, 2010
A 12 year old Joppa girl spent some anxious hours Thursday night after she became lost in woods near her home. Emergency officials said that Ashlie Lodge, and her twin sister Megan, went into the woods near their home on Hog Jaw Road to try and find a small dog that had wandered away. Ashlie and Megan became separated during the search. Megan was able to find her way back to their home but Ashlie evidently wandered further into the woods.
As temperatures dropped into the low twenties, personnel from the Arab Police Department, Arab Fire and Rescue, Arab Rescue Squad, and dozens of other volunteers spread out across the woods to search for Ashley. The Marshall County Sheriff's Department was preparing to send a helicopter to aid in the search when she was found.
Ashlie was located just after 9 pm and was taken to a nearby home to be checked by Arab Fire Paramedics. After warming up she was able to return home.
